how to decide which kind of diving is fitting me

In my previous blog i wrote about the different places at the Red Sea from the Egyptian side and what kind of diving they are offer.
Today i wanna ask you a few questions to make it easier for you to decide what you wanna see and which kind of diving may fit you.

First of all, there is no better or not so good choise, because
for whatever kind of diving you will decide, its great that you follow your passion and that you enjoy your underwater adventure.

It is up to you to decide and also you have to see which kind of diving is going well with your experience, and your way of exploring.

So lets start:

Shore diving:  most of the time you will arrive to the dive side with a minibus and the diving center will
take care of your equipment. When you are sign up for a shore dive you have to think
                      about a few things.

  • How is the wind on your diving day. Because your water entry and exit will be in the waves, and it is not easier to do so when it is windy which means bigger waves.
  • Bring an extra towel and water in a bottle to clean your feets before you go back into your normal shoes.
  • Use suncream in the morning before your tour is starting, special in the face, so all the cream will dissolve into your skin and your mask will not leak.
  • Use fins with booties. It may be that there are some dead corals in your way when you enter and exit the water.
  • Bring a hanger ( to put your dive suit in the surface time on it and not let it be full of sand) with you and take your suit of between the dives, to prevent faster heat loss in the second dive.
  • Do not eat wheat or any kind of heavy spices ( like garlic ) in the break. It may be that your through get upset from that in the next dive.
Daily diving: If you are not making holiday in the Hotel the Diving Center is located the Dive center
will pick you up with a Minibus early in the morning and collect also all the other Guests.
Around 8 am will be the check in at the Diving center, trying the equipment if you don't
have your own, finishing all the paper work and move to the Boat. Daily diving boats are
something between 12 and 18 meter long. Just keep in mind, as smaller the boat, as more
                     you feel the waves.
End of your diving day will be around 4 to 5 pm, depends if you are going in winter or
                     summer.

  • Bring suncream with you.
  • Two bikinis or shorts. to change between the dives and be dry while you are taking your lunch and surface time.
  • Street shoes are not allowed at the boats, so bring neoprene socks if you are having cold feets fast.
Safaridiving: Liveaboats are like swimming Hotels. On the first day you check in, make your
Equipment, paperwork, check your cabin and wait for the boat safety briefing and the
dive guides will tell you also how your week will looks like. At the last day you clean and
dry your equipment. Between you will make three dives and one night dive.

  • Don't be shy to ask any question comes in your mind.
  • Remember, all the dives the guides offering you can do them, you don't have too.
  • Stay in the sade during your surface time. The sea is reflecting the sun. And sunburn under the neoprene is very painful.
  • Make a oriantaion for yourself on the Safariboat. Because there are different levels and also the guides should explain about the emergency equipment. If they forget, remember them.
  • With Safariboats you reach places not available for the normal Daily boats.
Like Big Brother Marine Park

 Or Small Brother Marine Park

I hope i could help you with this blog, in my next blog i will write about equipment and whats the different between them. Thank you so much for spending your time with me.
